A Ritual for Intention:

You will need this candle, a bowl of water, a small fireproof dish, a piece of paper and something to write with.

Find a space to quiet yourself, contemplate and center yourself.

Cleanse the candle by sprinkling a few drops of water from the bowl. The flow of water lights the path where you shall go.

On the paper, write an intention. Do you have a question that seeks an answer, a need for clarity or for protection? Be clear with your words. Fold the paper three times. Clasp it tightly and visualize your intention as the glowing light within you.

Light the candle and focus on the flame as it flickers and then steadies. Ask the light to guide your way with its gentle light.

Carefully hold the paper to the flame until it is lit. Place it on the dish and watch your intention be carried into the universe as it burns.

Sit in silence with the glowing flame, reflecting on its energy and your intention. When you are ready, gently blow out the candle.

Scatter the ashes under a tree, in a garden or into running water, to return your intention to the earth.

Keep your candle in a special place and light it whenever you wish to renew or set a new intention.
