how to care for your perishable truffles
Vosges Haut-Chocolat truffles are made with fresh cream and must be consumed within 10 to 14 days of shipping. Please reference the expiration date card or sticker on the bottom of the box for detailed best by dates. Our chocolate bars, peanut butter bonbons, toffee, Vegan Truffle Collections, and some of our other specialty items have a longer shelf life. Reference the sticker or card included with each item in your shipment for exact expiration dates.
While recommended, refrigeration is not required (unless otherwise stated on the packaging) and storing at ambient temperature will not compromise the integrity of your haut-chocolat.
The flavor seal wrap protects the chocolate and ensures optimal flavor in each bite. Before breaking the seal, allow the truffles to come to room temperature. Place any remaining chocolates in the refrigerator wrapped in a new layer of plastic wrap or in a cool, dry place (approximately 65 degrees Fahrenheit).
If you’d like to save your truffles for consumption on a future date you may freeze them for up to 8 weeks. DO NOT break the secure wrap that the truffles arrived in. When ready to enjoy, thaw your truffles gradually (about 3 hours).
For the best Advent chocolate experience, we recommend enjoying each chocolate on its special day, but if you decide to save for longer than an extra day or two, we recommend putting the sealed gold pouch in the freezer or placing loose chocolates in a freezer safe glass container for storage. Once you are ready to eat, move to the refrigerator to thaw.Â
