Within The Chalet's numbered drawers, you and yours will find a treasure trove of holiday confections to count down the days of Advent. Fluffy marshmallows, tart blood orange caramels, crunchy, buttery toffee, playful chocolate peppermint gnomes, crisp candied ginger cookies, spirited raspberry hares, and happy tart cherry hedgehogs are just some of the delights that await your discovery.

Drawing inspiration from the enchanting winter landscapes, we've imagined a magical forest alive with the laughter and joy of woodland creatures. Picture a band of cheerful animals—our spirited mountain ram gearing up for the slopes, the playful sheepdog gliding on hockey skates, and a grand holiday goose perched atop the tree, watching over the festivities and spreading cheer. This delightful scene captures the essence of Nordic merriment, bringing a touch of magic to every day of the season.

    Legend has it that the candy cane dates back to 1670, when the choirmaster at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany, while guiding rehearsal for the Christmas pageant, devised a special distraction to keep the young singers occupied. He pulled a peppermint stick from the pocket of his robe, warmed it over a candle and bent it into the shape of a shepherd's hook. The children adored the candy canes and would hang them from the trees outside and imagine they were shepherds traversing the high hills.

I have bought two of these advent calendars. Christmas 2022 and Christmas 2023. I thought it was a bit pricey when I purchased it and I had never tasted the chocolate so I was nervous to do it, but the person it was for has such a sweet tooth, and I didn't want a chincy calendar. When she got the calendar, for the longest time she didn't realize that it lit up and played music. She was thrilled when she found this out. Her second year I don't know if she knew that I was going to give it to her again, but she was absolutely like a kid in a "candy" store when it arrived. Now she was addicted to the boxes, "they are going to be collectors items." This is what she told me. This calendar is pricey. You don't get much chocolate each day. It is definitely gourmet chocolate, not Hershey chocolate. You are paying mostly for the exquisite box that all of these chocolates come in. I'm wondering why the price went up 30$ this year? Hopefully it is to add a little more chocolate. But if you are looking for a unique Advent Calendar for that chocolate lover. This is the one!

Magical!

I ordered this as a special Christmas gift for myself. Although it is expensive,it made my day so special every morning for 25 days. I would turn on the lights and music and see what special treat was in store for me. The chocolates, as always, were amazing. However the entire experience was what I loved the most. Sometimes we just a little happiness to start the day and this gave me that.

The only thing predictable about this advent calendar was the "secret message" to be revealed...which was already printed on the side of the box. Other than that it was a magical experience from start to finish, with a wide variety of quality chocolates. And certainly enough chocolates per day to share with 2 or 3 people. I assumed the final chocolate would be a big Santa and I was surprised again!
