This year the Harvest Moon is a gorgeous reminder of abundance and gratitude. Often times a full moon marks a time to let go, to discard the old and to make space for new manifestations, ideas and energies. This year, the Pieces full moon is a reminder of who we are, our beauty, connections and strengths. A mirror to our goodness.
In celebration of this time of year, a ceremony of chocolates and light, of late season wildflowers and high vibration crystals sets the stage for a ritual of gratitude. I create a large circle of these items on my floor. The circle is a symbol of continuation, of cycle. It is a reminder that with light comes the darkness and then again, light. I sit in this light represents my knowledge and strength. This act signifies my recognition of a time with richness, intention and pure love. To sit quietly in this beauty creates magic that radiates through my spirit and extends out to every part of my life. I am grateful for the wonderful light that shines bright in the sky, the Harvest Moon, that celebrates the great harvest of life.
As the new moon arrives in the coming weeks, you will feel energized and ready to celebrate your rituals and create your autumnal new intentions!
Neil Young’s song Harvest Moon, was a significant song in my life and always reminds me of this time of year. I was married under a Harvest moon and danced to Young’s serenade on the day in Indiana. I started a journey on this day and though the marriage wasn’t forever it see it as a teacher that survival through loss can lead to a higher level and much deeper connection with those who share your energetic space. On this Harvest Moon l I fill my mind with intentionality to focus on continual grow, to get higher than I I was before and as Young says, “to be more alive than you were before.”
The Harvest Moon is an abundant radiance of moonlight in the early evening, an aid for the farmers to harvest crops. This is also known as an to aid in bringing to surface unresolved and dormant emotions. So let them come and welcome them. Thank them and kindly tell them to they are no longer needed, send them to the side and in the space that is left hear your message. When we move all of these feelings out we can see the real work.
